earthrite
about our organization

Earthrite now offers courses, workshops, and rituals to experience, understand, and celebrate the earth we share. Workshops and courses available are designed for a lay audience. They include coast and climate change, coastal ecology, and reading and writing the coastal landscape. We also offer workshops to help situate ourselves in the evolving story of the earth, from its fiery Hadean past to its many potential futures. Workshops can be taken through Earthrite directly, held at your laboratory or place of worship, and tailored to your particular needs.

We believe mental health is deeply linked to our relationship with the earth; if that relationship, or the earth itself, is damaged, we also suffer. Earthrite's program, The Garden, offers peer-led workshops specifically designed for those with mental health concerns who want to reconnect with the earth and find healing in a place of mutual care.

In Jewish tradition, the Yiddish name for a synagogue, shul, literally means school. The shul is a place to study and learn Torah, and prayer and action comes from that study. Our long-term vision for Earthrite is an interfaith earth shul, a place for people of any faith to study and learn about this earth, and have our prayers and actions arise from that study. Earthrite calls for righting our relationship with the earth, through study, ritual, and action. We are part of something precious, and wish to live that truth in our study and in our lives.
