earthrite
programs overview

Earthrite courses are hands-on experiences designed to connect our hearts, minds, and spirits with the earth. In these courses, you might measure the tide line or the populations of barnacles, draw or paint your surroundings, dig for clams in a mudflat, write a poem, dance your findings, or sit in quiet reflection or prayer. We are also offering workshops to share the scientific understanding of earth history as sacred story, to be held in your place of worship.

We believe our well-being is deeply linked to our relationship with the earth; if that relationship, or the earth itself, is damaged, we also suffer. Earthrite's program, The Garden, offers opportunities for those who want to reconnect with the earth and find healing in a place of mutual care. These programs focus less explicitly on natural history than the courses described above, and more on fostering a relationship with the rest of the natural world. Because we believe ecological health and social justice are intimately linked, The Garden strives to serve communities in struggle, including those who are homeless or living with mental health concerns.
